Join Sara for an Online class to make a Kaleidoscope Quilt! a super cool and fun technique where everyblock looks completely different

This is a bit tricky to give an exact amount! The fabric you need depends on the fabric you choose and the length of the pattern repeat. Choose a fabric you like (large patterns with some background showing work well) and check for the pattern repeat.

Pick a point in the pattern (something distinctive that you’ll spot easily) and then find the repeat of this point. Measure the distance between the two points. It needs to be at least 6” for this pattern to work. Some pattern repeats are small 6-8” some very large 30-35”!

In total you will need six full pattern repeats for this quilt. Measure from the point you picked as the start of the first repeat and continue until you’ve got six pattern repeats in total (you would cut the fabric just before the 7^th distinctive point!)

If the repeat is smaller say 6” you would only need approximately 36” x WOF of fabric – this would make a small quilt! A large repeat say 21” you would need 126” x WOF of fabric and make a much larger quilt!

Alternatively, to stop yourself worrying about pattern repeats buy six identical panels!
