This is a pattern for using a layercake to make an age old block. 

Materials

An equal number of background squares to the number of layer cake squares that you use

E.g.:     49 layer cake squares (10”)

            49 background squares (10”)

This would give you a square quilt measuring 54” x 54” before borders.  But you can use any number squares as long as you have equal amounts.
